Lighter wallets…

Well we’ve done it. We went to see a house at 4:15pm and by 5pm we had handed over 200 squids to an estate agent, bent over and prepared to be be violated by the group known as The Cambridge Letting Agent Mafia. The house itself is part of a new development, St Matthew’s Gardens. It is so new that on Google maps it appears as a building site. There are some photos of a ‘one up’ house from ours on another site. Update: Some better pictures of a better house were found by Jennie. ‘Our’ one is just like that but only from the door right-wards.

The place itself is a lovely modern house which is fairly spatious in a wierd ‘vertical’ fashion (it is 4 storeys with two rooms per storey). There is underground secure parking which pleases Jennie a lot obviously. Now we’ve handed over money it is time for the fun process of getting references, credit checks, etc sorted so we can properly move in. Oh and finding £Obscene from somewhere for the deposit.

Update: And I’ve just realised how close it is to Chris, Jonathan and Lisa’s. Woo — at least 3 for the house-warming.

Holy batfink! I’m published!

As part of my monthly procrastination-cum-self-love cycle I googled for myself today and found an interesting result. I’ve got a real non-CompSci paper out there[1]! And further it is one I had completely forgotten about. I shall have to find some excuse to cite it in the thesis.

[1] It isn’t CompSci - honest. Even though it is in Lecture notes on Computer Science…
